Yes. Florida law provides that upon your request for an independent blood test the police must allow you to do so after they complete their breath testing. The police must provide you with a way to obtain such an independent blood test but it will be at your expense. The police denying you this right or blocking you from obtaining an independent blood test could result in a dismissal of your case.
